1 down 20 million more to go
Rocky Mountain News: Local: "A Mexican national was sentenced last week to 8 1/2 years in prison after he committed three crimes in three states and had been deported three times since 1996.

Isidro Palomino-Garcia, 36, was sentenced last Thursday to 102 months, or 7 years, for illegal re-entry of an aggravated felon and another 18 months for violating probation for a previous conviction of re-entry after deportation. The two sentences will run consecutively.

'This criminal alien will spend the next 8 1/2 years in prison for flagrantly and repeatedly violating our laws,' said Jeffrey Copp, special agent in charge for the Denver office of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 'We will continue to work closely with the US Attorney’s office to prosecute criminal aliens and remove them from our communities and from the country.'

Re-entry into the United States after deportation is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison."
