1010 WINS - ALL NEWS. ALL THE TIME.: Prison Time For Pond Plunge Death
: "TAMFORD, Conn. A Stratford man accused of leaving his girlfriend to die after his car ended up in a Stamford pond has been sentenced to three and a-half years in prison.
In July, 30-year-old Francisco Loaiza had pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle. He was sentenced yesterday in Stamford Superior Court.
In the early morning hours of January 15th, Loaiza was driving a Nissan Altima on Weed Avenue in Stamford and speeding at more than 85 miles an hour. Police say he lost control of the care, struck a guard rail and drove into Holly Pond and fled on foot."
