D'oh! - Worlds Dumbest Crook Watch
toledoblade.com: "VAN WERT, Ohio - Two would-be drug makers picked the wrong garage in which to set up shop: that of a city police dispatcher.

The two were arrested yesterday on drug charges after Van Wert dispatcher Rick Spoor opened the door to his seldom-used garage behind a rental property and found them making illegal methamphetamine, city police Lt. Tom Bartz said.

'These guys were actively cooking,' the lieutenant said, referring to the process of making the drug, also known as meth. 'He caught them right in the process.'

One suspect, Jeremy Paige, 21, of no fixed address, remained with Mr. Spoor as the dispatcher called his colleagues at 8:43 a.m. About an hour later, authorities nabbed Corby J. Mercer, 21, of Butler, Ind. He fled in his 1994 Mercury Topaz, leading authorities on a chase that ended in a plowed field with a Ohio Highway Patrol airplane and a police dog tracking the suspect."
