Teachers flee 'insurgents' - International - Schools shut after murders
Edinburgh Evening News - International - Schools shut after murders
MORE than 300 schools in southern Thailand closed their doors today, following the killing of three teachers.

Fearful staff have said they won’t return until the government can provide adequate protection from Muslim insurgents.

Teachers agreed yesterday that public schools in three southern provinces would go on strike.

More than 570 people have died since militants restarted a fight for a state separated from the Buddhist-dominated country. School officials have become targets because they are viewed as government representatives.
