  The sheerest folly
How exactly are AQ mutt's covered under the Geneva Convention? Who is the signatory for AQ to the convention. When has AQ ever acted in a manner deserving of Geneva Conventions.
Bush has given up on the WoT in his second term, and now his fumbling lack of vision or quality of will have damned the men and women who beleived enough to fight to a war of politaclly expedient dumbfucking cluelessness.
Bush to announce transfer of CIA detainees: ABC | Top News | Reuters.com: "WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush will announce that about a dozen top foreign terrorism suspects held at secret CIA prisons will be transferred to Department of Defense custody and granted protections under the Geneva Conventions, ABC News reported on Wednesday.

Quoting an unnamed source familiar with the president's announcement, the network said the change would apply to all prisoners now being held by the CIA, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the September 11 attacks and senior al Qaeda leader Ramzi Binalshibh.

The source said there are 'about a dozen' prisoners now being held by the CIA.

Up to now, the U.S. government has not officially acknowledged the existence of the CIA prisons, which were revealed by the Washington Post last year, sparking international criticism of the Bush administration."

Pray or die, Somali sheikh tells Muslims - Yahoo! News
Pray or die, Somali sheikh tells Muslims - Yahoo! News: "MOGADISHU (Reuters) - A leading Mogadishu sheikh said on Friday Muslims who do not pray five times a day should be put to death -- the latest sign of a fast-emerging hardline face to Somalia's newly-powerful Islamists.

The sheikh's statement -- which he confirmed to Reuters after it was broadcast on local media -- caused consternation among residents and will fuel foreign fears the Islamists are planning a hardline Taliban-style rule.

'He who does not perform prayer will be considered as infidel and our sharia law orders that person to be killed,' said Sheikh Abdalla Ali, who runs a sharia court in the Somali capital which the Islamists took last month."

When is enough, enough? Why is the el-Presidente holding the Israeli's back?
Gaza militants say fired chemical-tipped warhead | Reuters.com: "GAZA (Reuters) - A spokesman for gunmen in the Gaza Strip said they had fired a rocket tipped with a chemical warhead at Israel early on Thursday.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the claim by the spokesman from the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement.

The group had recently claimed to possess about 20 biological warheads for the makeshift rockets commonly fired from Gaza at Israeli towns. This was the first time the group had claimed firing such a rocket.

'The al-Aqsa Brigades have fired one rocket with a chemical warhead' at southern Israel, Abu Qusai, a spokesman for the group, said in Gaza.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said the army had not detected that any such rocket was fired, nor was there any report of such a weapon hitting Israel."

Why el-Presidente Arbusto is full of shit on immigration
WTOV9.com - News - Illegal Immigrants Free To Go: "llegal Immigrants Free To Go
Local police said they intercepted 20 illegal Mexican immigrants, but were ordered by immigration officials to let them go free.

Belmont County Sheriff Fred Thompson said his officers were instructed by federal immigration services to let all 20 illegal immigrants go free, and said his department has no choice but to follow the orders from immigration officials.

Thompson said officers stopped a van at 3 a.m. Tuesday which was traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 470 in St. Clairsville.

The officer discovered 20 illegal Mexican immigrants inside the van, including three who were previously deported. The officer immediately contacted immigration officials, who told him to let all 20 immigrants go.

'Once we find out they are illegals, it's like pat them on the back of the head and tell them, 'Go on down the road; you'll probably get stopped again,'' Thompson said.

The immigrants told the officer they were traveling through Ohio to obtain work in Manassas, Va.

Calls to Citizenship and Immigration Services as well as Immigration and Customs Enforcement have not been returned."

Paratroopers could fly 200km with new wings system
Paratroopers could fly 200km with new wings system: "A new military parachute system which fits wings on soldiers could enable them to travel to 200 kilometres (124 miles) after jumping, Jane's Defence Weekly defence magazine said Friday.

The system, which involves the development of new modular carbon-fibre wings, will mean that aircraft can drop parachutists from 30,000 feet (9,150 metres) into an area of operations without flying into a danger zone.

Trials of the modular wing are being developed by the German firm Elektroniksystem und Logistik and Draeger. They are due to finish by the end of 2006, with the entire parachute and wings combination expected to be available during 2007."

DJ Drummond and PoliPundit can, as Cartman would say it: ‘Suck Mah Balls’!
It seems that one of the co-bloggers DJ Drummond has a nasty habit of randomly deleting posts he doesn’t agree with. Not posts that were abusive or foul mouthed, just not in agreement with his ‘fellate-at-all-costs’ policy toward supporting the President, right or wrong.

A site with an open comments policy that deletes comments that are not in lock-step can go pound sand up their collective asses.

Nabil Al Rowais, 37, was arrested after he arrived for the visit with a man he thought was the 21 2-year-old girl's father, officials said Friday. The girl doesn't exist and the 'father' was really an undercover agent who corresponded with Rowais over e-mail."

May 1 immigrant boycott aims to 'close' cities | Reuters.com: "LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pro-immigration activists say a national boycott and marches planned for May 1 will flood U.S. streets with millions of Latinos to demand amnesty for illegal immigrants and shake the ground under Congress as it debates reform.

Such a massive turnout could make for the largest protests since the civil rights era of the 1960s, though not all Latinos -- nor their leaders -- were comfortable with such militancy, fearing a backlash in Middle America.

'There will be 2 to 3 million people hitting the streets in Los Angeles alone. We're going to close down Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Tucson, Phoenix, Fresno,' said Jorge Rodriguez, a union official who helped organize earlier rallies credited with rattling Congress as it debates the issue.

Immigration has split Congress, the Republican Party and public opinion. Conservatives want the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants classified as felons and a fence built along the Mexican border."

'And I can assure you it will be delivered under the control of the relevant organizations,' he said."

Democrats and Voter Fraud, two things that just go together
Tennessee Senate Votes to Oust Member - Yahoo! News: "NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Republican-controlled Senate voted on Wednesday to unseat one of its Democratic members, agreeing that her 13-vote win was tainted by questionable ballots from felons and dead voters.

An investigative committee, which has been at work since the September special election, recommended Memphis Sen. Ophelia Ford be ousted after finding the election was suspect because of 12 improper ballots.

Two ballots were cast in the names of dead people and others came from felons and people outside the district, the committee said.

Ford has contended attempts to oust her are motivated by the Republicans' slim 18-14 majority in the Senate."

  The duplicitious Donk's
Wasn't it all during the run-up to the '04 elections that the Donk's were whining about "Cowboy Diplomacy" and "failure to consult with our allies" how J. F'n Kerry would be able to sway the French and the German's etc etc.
For right or wrong GW tapped the EU to deal with the Iranian nuclear issue. Predictably it was a complete cluster-fuck.
Now that time has just about run out on the Iranian issue, the Donk's now want the US to act unilaterally and without a huggy-kissy coalition of our 'allies' (those that maintain trade relationships with Iran).

Las Vegas SUN: Reid blasts Bush during Reno visit: "RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Bush administration is relying too heavily on other countries in the international effort to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons, according to Sen. Harry Reid.

Reid, D-Nev., said the administration should be taking the lead, but instead is relying on Germany, France and Great Britain to convince Iran to end its uranium enrichment program.

'It is hard to comprehend,' Reid said Tuesday in Reno. 'We should be involved at trying to arrive at a diplomatic solution. ... Not just these three countries.'"

James Organ, director of Australian research organisation Callcentres.net, said 'lots of poor innocent Indian workers' were abused regularly by Australians.

'Some companies are regretting outsourcing this business to India because of the damage it does to their products' reputation,' he said.

'Its a cultural thing – the moment an Australian suspects the call is coming from India they can get uptight. "

It was the third such case involving the U.S. Internet giant."

BREITBART.COM - McClellan Leaves White House Press Office: "White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Wednesday he is resigning, continuing a shakeup in President Bush's administration that has already yielded a new chief of staff and could lead to a change in the Cabinet.

Appearing with Bush on the White House South Lawn just before the president boarded a helicopter at the start a trip to Alabama, McClellan, who has parried especially fiercefully with reporters on Iraq and on intelligence issues, told Bush: 'I have given it my all sir and I have given you my all sir, and I will continue to do so as we transition to a new press secretary.'"

Georgia governor signs sweeping immigration law | Reuters.com
Georgia governor signs sweeping immigration law | Reuters.com: "ATLANTA (Reuters) - The state of Georgia approved a sweeping measure on Monday to crack down on illegal immigrants and the people who hire them as a passionate debate on immigration heats up in the United States.

The law could fuel a national controversy as the federal government and other states consider how to deal with millions of undocumented workers while immigrants, many of whom are Hispanic, are displaying their political power through mass demonstrations in cities across the United States.

The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act, signed into law by Gov. Sonny Perdue, denies many state services paid for by taxpayers to people who are in the United States illegally.

It also forces contractors doing business with the state to verify the legal status of new workers, and requires police to notify immigration officials if people charged with crimes are illegal immigrants.

'It's our responsibility to ensure that our famous Georgia hospitality is not abused, that our taxpayers are not taken advantage of and that our citizens are protected,' Perdue said before signing the law.

Other provisions of the law prohibit employers from claiming a tax deduction for wages of $600 or more paid to undocumented workers, impose prison terms for human trafficking and limit the services commercial companies can provide to illegal immigrants.

Hundreds of thousands of people have demonstrated at rallies in major U.S. cities in recent weeks demanding rights for illegal immigrants in the United States."

100 extra Jackbooted Asshats at taxpayer expense. That is a bigger deal than their assholish tactics in local bars.
abc13.com: News from KTRK, around Texas - the Lone Star State: "More than 2,200 bar patrons or workers have been arrested or issued citations since August. The purpose is to stop the sale of alcoholic beverages to people who are drunk and, as a result, cut down on the number of drunken drivers.

Public intoxication is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500.

But media reports about the program after a sting last month in the Dallas suburb of Irving prompted criticism that the arrests could prove bad for business if they drive away conventions and other tourists.

Beck said the commission had been considering the suspension after the flood of complaints related to the Irving stings.

The commission has not set a date to reinstate the program.

'We're just delaying the operations until we've had time to go through the information we received,' Beck said.

The Monday hearing will continue as planned and will also include the Senate Criminal Justice Committee, Beck said.

The commission has been doing stings in bars since 2001, but began doing more over the summer after getting additional funding from the Legislature for about 100 more employees."
